My News Director received a phone call today from a lady that wanted to know why I used vulgar language in a promo (commercial). She said I stated "People want to know if the storm is going to kick their _______" ... Of course we had no idea what she was talking about... She told us what time it aired, and we went back and looked...
I said "people want to know if the storm is going to hit their house"!
My ND called her back and had to talk with her for several minutes to convince her that I did not cuss.
As if ANY station would cuss in their promo! (Except maybe Don Imus:) )
Here's a clip of the promo.... Click HERE
Take care,
Ryan

OK, this is ridiculous. I have seen that promo at least 20 times in the past month and I can honestly say that it is very obvious what you said. I wander if this woman called Don's, (whatever his name is) news director and complained about what he said - probably not because that would of been something to really complain about.
Does she really think that the big dogs at KAIT would of aired a promo with you saying an "unacceptable" word?
Keep up the good work, we are so lucky to have you and the KAIT 8 storm team!!!
Are you kidding me? What wrong were you supposed to have used? Maybe somone needs their hearing tested. Some people.......
It sounds like someone just wanted something to complain about because as many times as ive seen the promo i have to say you couldnt have spoken any plainer than you did. Besides Ryan doesnt she know "geeks" dont talk like that lol :D
LOL! I had the same thought as Graciejo about the hearing aid. People are so strange....
THAT is funny :)
I can only imagine how you must have reacted when you first heard the complaint.
Another thing to laugh about in the future!!!!!
As the others have said, tell that person to get a hearing aide! I am hard of hearing at times and you talk very clear in that promo. Keep up the great work!
