The Daily Show...

This is hilarious!

Jon Stewart makes fun of The Weather Channel, the "seal" of approval, and a promo from Oklahoma City... I love the Daily Show!

What would you think, if KAIT ran a promo that dramatic? Would you like it?

Take care,
Ryan

I don't know about the Gary England promo, but it would be priceless to see you do the weather dressed as Number 2 like "Larry Scott".

I am actually pretty shocked that KWTV would run a "promo" of this kind. It's not as if Oklahomans don't know about the seriousness of severe weather in their state, but regardless, this spot takes things too far. I mean, if, for example, the entire state of Maine had just moved in, and KWTV felt a responsibility to enlighten these folks to the point that they needed medication to get to sleep at night, then I believe they've accomplished something with this production! - Still, it makes you wonder how many kids (or adults, frankly) have been traumatized by watching this? What happens in their homes now when the tornado warning sirens go off? Storm season in Oklahoma really doesn't need dramatization, so this, in my estimation, was uncalled for ... (And I wonder whether Gary England had anything to do with this??? That would be a surprise...)

However, if there is such a thing as an "appropriate response," I think the rival station nailed it! :D

No, but I like the promo with the Wood Ford Storm Tracker running through town with the lights on. I know that severe weather warrants coverage and even promotion, but why does it get taken to such dramatic proportions?

I AM AGAINST any vision that further terrorizes the minds of children,,,,,I mean `its not like those courageous folks dont live with this scenario yr by yr by year......I think much of media`s formats have crossed lines of truth and safety in favor of hiked ratings....and Ryan, there are none who love laughter more than i, however, not at the expense of the peace of mind of wee ones. Now if you would report the weather in a tweety bird suit.....well....we`d all get a smile from that one!!!

OK, is that you and Trey Stafford in that commercial running from the Wood Ford stoem tracker advertising the K8 run? That commercial is too cute and so is the one with you and Sarah about the mobile weather deck.
