I know it is not a hurricane, but it sure looks like it! I've never seen a tropical depression strenghten over land, but it looks like that might have happened last night!!! In any case, it made for a cool radar image and it caught the attention of the National Weather Service near Oklahoma City. Here's what they had to say this morning:
"A MOST INTERESTING NIGHT. TROPICAL DEPRESSION ERIN SEEMED TO HAVE REGAINED STRENGTH DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AND HAS PRODUCED STRONG WINDS AND TORRENTIAL RAINS. EVOLUTION OF AN EYE-LIKE STRUCTURE HAS BEEN RATHER IMPRESSIVE WITH VERY HEAVY RAINS AND HIGH WINDS OCCURRING NEAR IT"
As I type this, they have winds gusting to 35 mph with heavy rain and tornado warnings! It's craziness! Click here to get thier latest weather and click here for the latest radar image.
I'm off to church... Take care,
Ryan

Our western sky is covered by small mammatus clouds. (Not a great photo-op, though.) Guess this thing is sliding into Region-8 a bit. Maybe we can get a few inches of rain out of it -- not 6-10, however. Could you please arrange that, all-powerful Weather Man? ;-D
That's an awesome satellite image, by the way. Somebody in Oklahoma ought to think about framing it, too!
