Tornado On Tuesday, Church On Sunday

The front side of Highland Hills Baptist Church was ripped off on Tuesday Night, but it did not keep them down for long! In a matter of days, they have already built back a good part of the building! I was in Higjland on Friday and I saw these folks working hard to get the roof back on and the walls back up. Take a look at the progress! Here's the email that was sent by Judy Ford with the pictures:

Tornado on Tuesday & regular church services Sunday. The church got power late Saturday afternoon, you still can not drink the water, boil order. Most churches offered their buildings for us to have a place to have our services, but with still lots of clean up & repairs to be made, we were able to have church in our own building. Sunday school will resume next Sunday, & Awana's will be back on track a week from this Wednesday. What an AWESOME God!

Have a blessed day everyone!

Where there is God there, is hope. :-D I don't think there is another place in the world that comes together like we do.

Highland is Pocahontas's rival in the field, and on the court, but they are also our neighbors who we care alot for !!!

When I arrived in Highland On Saturday morning there was no wall at all on the front...When I left that afternoon around 4:00 There was a wall and it was totally fixed up like nothing had ever happened.. This was done in a little under 7 hours or so..That's some quick work! Great job guys!!

Good Evening Ryan,
"PRAISE GOD" for the people in Highland coming together to rebuild GOD'S HOUSE!!!! I am so glad to see everyone coming together to help those in need. I think it is so cool to see my name on t.v. about yall keeping us informed of the weather that night. My Mom lives in Lepanto and she had called me and wanted to know if I knew about it and I said no. I did get to see it later on. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!!!! Our School here in Caraway will be taking up donations on Monday and Tuesday of this week for the affected areas. Our girls brought home a note about it from School on Friday. I was suppose to bring our supplies to Jonesboro on Friday afternoon, but my hubby didn't get back from Memphis until after 6:00p.m. So, I will be taking the supplies out to the School in the morning. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

That's a very nice series of photos.

We finally made the trip up to Highland this afternoon. It was tough, of course, because so many of the businesses we frequented are basically unrecognizable now. At one point we parked in the Highland Hills lot; we were very impressed/amazed at the progress, since we had seen the photos of what it looked like before. We were not surprised, though, but maybe that's because we both grew up in Amish country. :)

It appears as though the damage path is not nearly as wide through Highland as it was through mny parts of Izard Co. I hope that data is available now too.
