Gym Update

I'm still going to the gym and I'm still eating better. It's been two weeks now and I have lost about 5-6 lbs. More importantly, I feel SO much better.

I really want to keep this trend going! I know that I will continue going to the gym. I have no problem with THAT, but the diet is not as easy. I'll admit, I'm a big fan of junk food. For me, the perfect lunch is a burger and fries!

I can still have a burger and fries every now and then, but it's a turkey or veggie burger and baked sweet potato fries. If you have never tried that stuff, it's really not that bad!

I'll keep you posted on the success (and failures!). I hope to lose 9 more pounds before my birthday. I only have a little over 3 weeks! My trip to Nashville was a "little" setback! LOL

Take care,
Ryan

We eat a LOT of ground turkey, the Honeysuckle 93/7 kind. I use it in everything - burgers, chili, pasta sauce, tacos, etc. I think a lot of people would be shocked how much a "hamburger" made with that tastes like a beef burger, especially if it's done on the grill. Just put some spices on it (black pepper, thyme, ground onion & garlic) and it's tough to tell apart. ... BUT, we are very jealous that you guys can get sweet potato fries at your market! They stopped carrying them at our Wal-Mart a few months ago and we have yet to recover! :(

Way to go Ryan !!! I have been going to the gym for about 10 weeks now. I have lost over 30 pounds, and building muscle. I feel really good. I am running 2 miles ,5 days a week.

I am really thinking about running the 8k.

Don't give up...also the weight watcher diet is great !

Good Evening Ryan,
"CONGRATULATION'S" on your losing some weight and going to the gym. You must be very proud of yourself. I have to agree, I do love junk foods as well. Our girls Softball Season is starting up and we stay on the go alot, so, we grab something from a fast food place when we are going out of town for a Softball game. I have never tried a Turkey Burger or a Veggie Burger. I've had Baked Sweet Potatoes, but not Sweet Potato Fries. I do use Ground Chuck here at home when I'm cooking. Also, if I fix Spaghetti or Chili, I boil my Ground Chuck first and then drain and rinse it off before using it. By boiling it, is suppose to help with the cholesterol thing. Also, having baked meat is good too. I have made burgers by baking them in the oven. And of course there are homemade fries you can use. Instead of deep frying them, just rub them in some olive oil and put them in the oven and bake them. They are just as good that way. There is also a French Fry Seasoning that you can put on them as well. I hope some of my pointers have helped you in some way. I know I sure need to start eating more healthy foods, but being on the go in the Spring and Summer going to Softball games, it's kind of hard. It's looking like rain for Friday huh? I hope not because we are suppose to move. The Snow we had last weekend, which I was so greatly glad to get, LOL, kept us from moving last weekend. I sure hope this weekend isn't a wash out. We have Friday and Saturday to get our moving done. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

P.S. So you have a Birthday coming up huh? Is it this month? Mine is this month too and so is my Anniversary.

It's not like you can drive to Subway with 4 inches of snow on the ground!
