Why Not? Let's talk about Friday!

Could we really see another round of snow on Friday in Arkansas? We might! All of the models are in agreement right now with this system. If the models verify.... An upper-level disturbance will be shooting out of the four corners region on Friday, cold air will be diving south as a trough deepens, and a surface low pressure system will be sending moisture surging north from the Gulf. If this happens... bingo, we have snow.

Now, it's still a little early... BUT, I'm off work for the rest of the week and I wanted to go ahead and chat about it! Meteorologist Sarah Tipton will be covering the evening shifts and we will be chatting back and forth about the snow potential through the week.

If this pans out, there will still be parts of the area that miss out on the snow. That's just how things happen around here! Early indications suggest that the southern areas may get more snow this time.

Stay tuned, this is bound to change! :)

Ryan, Do the hills west of Jonesboro create an up sloping effect? (more snow)

Not really. If so, it's not really noticeable. The colder tempertures in the Ozarks make a bigger difference.

Do you think the Jonesboro area will see any snow or wintry weather in this weeks approaching storm.

You know we are gonna need a update on this storm tomorrow morning. It looks like Jonesboro to Memphis is gonna be the best place "if temps are right" for a good snow.

Any talk of watches coming out this evening yet ?

If the good folks responsible for keeping bread and milk on the shelves of grocery stores across Region-8 only knew what the models are showing right now ...

Good Afternoon Ryan,
I do hope you are enjoying your time off from work. Well, it looks like we may get something this time. But it can always change at any given moment tho. I think the Break and Milk Barometer needs to go up. LOL. I see we will be under a Winter Storm Watch beginning late tomorrow night. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.
