Warnings in Mississippi

I'm back from Talladega and I'm glad we are not having severe weather today! With that said, our friends in Mississippi are dealing with Tornado Warnings right now! This is "just" outside of our viewing area!

The above image shows our "velocity scope" and it clearly shows the "couplet" north of Holly Springs. This does not mean that there "is" a tornado, but it's a decent radar signature. The green colors indicate winds coming "toward" the radar site, and the red indicates winds going "away" from the radar site.

These storms are rather low-topped and I'd be surprised to see a "strong" tornado, but folks still need to take cover, just in case. As of right now, no damage has been reported.

In the past, some of you have wanted to see the user interface of StormTRACK Doppler 8. Well, here's one part of it. This is just the Level 2 radar tab of the interface. There's much, much more to the overall interface.

In other news, Talladega was AWESOME! I hope to get some pictures from one of my friends later today. If I do, I'll post them.

Take care,

Ryan
