Thoughts At 9:00

Power is out at my house
The sound of trees falling is amazing
This ice storm is historical
There's still a lot more out there
Streaming video on the blog failed
Wow, I got way too much email today
Is the weekend here yet?

I loved the basic broadcast last night. it was really cool to see the newscast back to basics. great job keeping us up to date. even with the flashlight.

At times like these, all of us can see how easy it was to take the average conveniences of our everyday lives for granted.
This experience leads many folks to start attending classes at their local Red Cross Chapter to help out within Red Cross Disaster Relief Services. The volunteers can serve many ways via logistics, shelter managers,in medical and food supply, ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle)both solo and caravan to major disasters, and locally as tree teams.
You may volunteer via your local, state, national or worldwide Red Cross.
The travel expenses to other locales are provided for certified (trained) volunteers.
Active retirees who can travel well are especially needed as Red Cross Hard Core
Disaster Response Teams.
