Flurries OR White Christmas???

Some new data coming in tonight suggest that we "could" see more than flurries in some locations Thu into Fri. This is just one model run, so we'll have to see how this unfolds. It shows the low tracking a little more south and east. This would leave the moisture around when the cold air arrives.... briefly. The NW counties of Region 8 stand the best chance of seeing accumualtions, including Sharp, Stone, Izard, Fulton, Baxter, Oregon, and Howell. If you notice on the map, the GFS model even has some 1" totals near Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge. The rest of us, including Jonesboro are left in the "dusting" category.

I usually would not hop on one model run, but it's Christmas and I'm really wanting some flakes to fly! It was a nice surprise to see this shift in the forecast. Hopefully it pans out. More updates are to come on my Twitter feed on the right side of this page.

Merry Christmas!
Ryan

why in the last few hours have the forecasts changed so much? there now predicting 6-10 inches in NW Arkansas and winter storm watch's in texarkana??? How come nothing forecasted here? What has to happen for the best chance of alot of snow in Jonesboro? Is it the track of the Low? If so, what track does it need to take for alot of snow?

I know it's not official but out here in Sage Meadows, as of 0830 I have received 4.5 inches of rain. Enough to break the rainfall record.!!!

I want you share this with all of those who do the weather. I get very upset and TURN your channel when you mention mother nature! There is NO such person. Mother nature was on a Parkay commercial in the late 60's and 70's. In Genesis God set the weather into motion after the FLOOD! So the reason we are having weather like this is GOD! Not all the false gods, JUST ALMIGHTY GOD, JESUS AND HOLY SPIRIT! I hope you will keep this in mind, and MERRY CHRISTMAS! Twanna Tyler

Twanna Tyler,

I have never said "Mother Nature"... so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
