There are so many awesome things on our website that it takes me awhile to find them. I recently ran across some really cool pictures and video on the weather page of WSFA. Have you clicked on the section on the weather page titled "Technology and Weather"? If not, you should really check it out. It will bring back some memories for many of you!
As I looked over some of the pictures, it really made me appreciate the technology we have today. On the other hand, it also made me want to give the weather like they did in the old days. How neat would it be to have "Old School" weathercast each Friday? I could pull out one of the old boards that Hines Wolter used to give you your Friday Forecast! Maybe I'm being goofy, but I think it would be a great change of pace. No doppler, no satellite loop, no FutureView blah, blah, blah.... just a old fashion weather map that you stick suns and clouds on. That would be cool! I'll have to ask if we still have those old weather boards!
It also made me wonder something else.... What makes a good weatherman or a good weathercast? Is it the personality, is it the graphics, is it because they have been at the station forever, or is it there accuracy? Email me your thoughts at rvaughan@wsfa.com... I'd love to hear what you think!
