Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have been having some MAJOR blog problems lately! Hopefully I will have the luck of the Irish today! If you ever wondered the origin of St. Patrick's Day or wondered about the background of the green, the shamrock, or the pinching.... then I have a website for you. Click here to find an interesting article about this Irish holiday. Be sure to click "continue" to go to the second page too.

Speaking of something Irish, I had a cool experience last night at O'Charley's. As many of you know, a lot of troops came home from Iraq yesterday in Prattville. Needless to say, they wanted to eat somewhere good! We happened to be at O'Charleys last night with a bunch of friends. While there, we noticed several of the soldiers and their families eating too. The soldiers there did not know this while they ate, but O'Charley's was going to pick up the tab! Not too shabby, huh? I thought that was pretty cool!

In other news... Did you see Tonya's disappearing act this morning? If you are not familiar with the chroma key wall (aka Weather Wall) then let me explain how it works. When we do the weather, we stand in front of a green wall. The camera takes this image of us in front of the wall, runs it through the control room, and replaces the green image with our weather map. Because of this, if we wear bright green... we disappear. Since Tonya was wearing bright green today, we used her as an example! Checkout the video link of my weathercast on the Today In Alabama Page to see a clip of it!

As always, feel free to email me at rvaughan@wsfa.com Thanks to all of the troops out there!
