"Fireballs" Update...

As promised on Nightbeat at 10:00, here's an update on the fireballs in the sky tonight from Arkansas to Wisconsin. This is a report from AP:

A preliminary report Sunday indicated the lights were from a meteor, said Maj. April Cunningham, a spokeswoman for North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, which watches for airborne threats to the United States and Canada."We had a pilot reporting seeing a meteor and that's really all the information we have tonight," Cunningham said.

Hmmm... Hopefully more info comes tomorrow. Here's a report from a Wisconsin National Weather Service office:

RECEIVED REPORTS OF METEORITES MAKING IMPACT ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN...FROM WINNEBAGO COUNTY (THANKS GRB) TO THE JANESVILLE...MADISON AND DARIEN AREAS. ALSO REPORTS FARTHER WEST AND SOUTH IN CENTRAL IOWA AND NORTHWEST ILLINOIS. SOME VISUAL REPORTS OF METEORITES MAKING IMPACT IN DANE AND ROCK COUNTIES. SHERIFFS INVESTIGATING ATTM.

And finally, here's a report from a Wisconsin Newspaper... click here.

I'll keep researching!
Good night,
Ryan
