It's been a long time since I've "snapped" on the blog, so I hope this does catch you off guard. My wife said that I might even offend a few of you and if I do... maybe you need to hear what I have to say more than anyone else.
Here we go... BIG KIDS DO NOT BELONG ON THE INDOOR PLAYGROUND! I feel better now. Here's my point... If your kid is 10 or 12 years old and there are fifteen 2-6 year old kids on the indoor playground (Burger King, McDonald's, Chik-Fil-A, etc) keep them OFF the playground. Am I the only one that feels this way? Am I asking too much?
I'm not a big fan of kids that weigh 4 times more than my kids stomping all through the human hamster cage, especially when kid is scaring all of the younger kids. I almost let my feelings be known yesterday in public, but since I'm "the weather guy", I didn't want to make a scene. Newsflash... We get mad too! :)
Anywho, I feel better now. I'm going back to sipping my coffee.
The NCAA tournament starts today!!! I'll be watching with some hot wings in hand!

I don't have kids, but I have to agree with you. If I did have little kids, I wouldn't want big kids scaring them on the playground like that. And don't they have height restrictions anyway? If not, they should.
AMEN and preach on. I have a little nephew and I fully agree, can't take him to eat and play without worrying about him getting ran over. Where are these kids parents!! Ok, back to the coffee..
I agree with you also. Most of the larger kids will run over the smaller kids. Parents with kids that old, tend not to watch what their kids are doing either, because they are older and parents feel they can play alone. They do make the smaller kids afraid, because most play to rough.
I think you should have just gone ahead and flipped out, to such a degree as to require the Jonesboro anti-riot squad to be activated. K-8 could have rushed Bob Snell or Craig Rickert to the scene ... to throw a bath towell over your head to, ahem, protect your identity. It would have been big stuff. And poor Diana would be left to report on your actions... Imagine breaking THAT story! Then you'd have to do the weather from inside the joint, with a chalk-drawing on your cell wall as your lone weather graphic. Kiss your Barton's Weather Deck goodbye! To top it all, your orange jumpsuit would probably cause quite a glare, so viewers would need to be advised to adjust their screen as necessary ... And to think, all of this could have been avoided if parents would simply keep their semi-adults out of the jungle gym at McDonalds.

I totally agree. But it just goes along with my pet peeve that some parents don't really watch their little darlings anyway. Now what do you think would happen if one of the little kids took a bite out of a bigger kid....LAWSUIT!
Maybe we need to start policeing the play areas, it would be a great job for grandparents who's grand kids live far away and need a kid fix...... of coarse background checks would be appropriate.
I have so wanted to "snap" many times, just as you did. One thing I hate is taking my kids to play in the mall at the playland in there. That is no place for 10 yr old, 5', 80 lb. kids to be playing. They knock my kids over, sit in the middle of the tree, and don't let the kids go down the slide. I just think this is ridiculous. I use this area as a reward for my kids for being good when we go shopping and its frustrating to have to share it with 'big' kids!!
And everyone wonders why kids are not learning in schools these days -hmmmmmm, could it possibly be the parents instead of the teachers - REVELATION!!!!!
On that situation, one suggestion on a possibly useful comment.
"Get out of the playground and go change your BIG DIAPER...you stink"

I agree with you if the kids really are older, but please remember that some kids look older than they really are. My kid is just turned 7 but everyone thinks she is 9 or 10 because of her height. She deserves to play just like the other 7 year olds. Any kid who really is older or who is being too rough around little ones needs to stay off. Their parents should be ashamed.
I have 2 daughters, and not once have they ever played in the "inside playgrounds" at these restuarants, because of the bigger and/or meaner kids. I think it all boils down to parents not teaching their kids respect anymore. It really is sad.
