Michael Vick

I just watched Michael Vick apologize on ESPN just now. I never thought I would think this, but he may actually be sorry. His statement was not given with notes. It did not appear to be pre-written. It seemed like it was straight from the heart... especially when he talked about the kids looking up to him as a role model.

With that said, I hope he gets the maximum sentence. He brutally killed and/or tortured animals. There is no excuse.

I hope the Atlanta Falcons get all of their millions of dollars back... I hope Vick never plays another football game in his life... and I hope Atlanta makes it to the Super Bowl to show that he was not the team, but PART of the team.

Those are my thoughts, but what are your thoughts? Feel free to make comments in the comments section.

If Pete Rose can never come back to baseball for what he did, then Micheal Vick sure the heck shouldn't be allowed back into football!

No, he was the team. The Falcons are HORRIBLE!

Too little, too late as far as the apology. Sure, he can be forgiven, but the consequences still remain and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, just like anybody else.

The apology was a start, but let's see if he tries to make reparation and makes any kind of effort to show that he really regrets what he did.

Only time will tell.

I agree with you Ryan. I also saw the apology and believe that it could be sincere, but like you said, ANIMALS WERE KILLED!!! They had no say in the matter they were just trained to fight. So sad, they were used for him to make some money as if he didn't have enough. Hats off to you for standing up for what is right!!!

Sorry, of course he was sorry. But not for what he done. He was just sorry for getting caught. I think he or anyone who mistreats animals should get prison time. No exceptions on who you are. And if your a public figure you should get worse punishment because you represent the AMERICAN people.

I agree he is sorry, but only because he got caught!!Personally, I would be willing to put him in a pen with the dogs. Ola

So Sad-to gain fame and fortune then toss it away, but what is more heart wrenching, is the role model picture he has painted to small sport fans.
Life is life,be it in animal or human.
My theory is: It takes a lifetime to build trust, and an instant to destroy ones character image. His respect loss will be his greatest punishment.

I think he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law as well, but like all celebrity figures he'll get off with a slap on the hand and the apology was just another PR stunt. I get tired of all the attention and money these pros get and many have no values or morals to start with. They break the law and know they can get away with it, that's what they have "people" for. The whole system needs to change.
