Our Inbox has been flooded with emails from viewers about a Hardees Commercial that is sexually explicit. The emails stem from this site.
First off, the programming department says that we are not even airing the commercials locally, BUT we continue to get the emails.
Let me begin by saying that I agree that the commercial should not air on KAIT. However, have you seen TV lately? Have you watched a soap opera? Have you seen any show that airs between the 9:00 and 10:oo PM hour? They make the Hardees commercial look conservative!
I remember my grandmother would talk about how raunchy pop music and rap music was, but would watch soap operas. If you are going to complain about the commercial, then complain about all of the junk that is on TV. Even better, don't watch it. If ratings are low, we drop the show.
Same theory goes with Hardees. If you don't eat there, they suffer. I think this publicity that the AFA is giving them may actually help their business.
Anywho, I'll stop now. I hope the emails stop soon, too. For crying out loud... I'm the weather guy!!! I don't decide what commecials air on KAIT.

LOL -- Why don't you tell us how you really feel?
You're awesome. Ryan!
Please stop the emails! I am having a tough time wading through the Hardee's emails trying to find the real stuff!
The commercial IS raunchy, just like the Paris Hilton add Carl's Jr. produced a few months ago...Icky.
Oh, brother. People are SOOOO strange. If they really hate it that much, why don't they email Hardees???
This is possibly the funniest news development in recent memory.
I had no idea this was such a popular movement. Citizens are united behind a cause, and they're demanding action ... from the K-8 Storm Team?! Should I start emailing you guys when I get upset with my cell phone bill too? Hmm... you know, I recently purchased some items at a local grocery that were past their sell by date, too. I was outraged, but never did it cross my mind to email Chris, Sarah or Ryan about it! I am obviously behind the times.
Seriously though, I am surprised, Ryan, that you only labeled soaps and the 9-10PM slot as prime-slime-time. I only get KAIT and PBS here, and with the ABC programming I need only one hand to count the number or shows I am willing to subject myself to. ... If I allow myself to think about it at all, I easily find it deeply saddening that shows like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy are on at an hour when children see their parents watching.
I wonder what kind of ratings The Altruistic Channel would get, if of course there ever was such a thing?
I had no idea what kind of commercial you were talking about, I heard Craig mention it on nightbeat last night and had no clue what he was talking about. I just linked off your page to the afa site and then to youtube where ironically I found the video. But you know as well as I do, Everything in the free world ends up in youtube. lol, anyhow, I saw the video and sure enough it's just as it was described, I can't say much about hardees since my brother works at the paragould one BUT that commercial. All I can say is oh my god, I can't believe FCC would even allow that type commercial on network television...'specially in a prime time slot.
Well I agree with Heidi why and how did the commerical become K-8 Stormteam. By the why are you a spokesman for McDonalds too? Because I reeally miss those chicken fajitas.lol By the way, where's Chris?
These Hardees commercials will probably be the beginning of the end for them. I cannot believe that any station would allow these to run, however, as you said - the soaps are just as bad.
The previous blogger asked what I have been wondering, Where is Chris Castleman?
