Will I Make It?

Until about 3-4 weeks ago, I had not run in years. About 3-4 weeks ago, I decided to run in the Heart & Sole 5K run/walk. Guess what... that run is tomorrow morning! I'm not sure how ready I am, but that does not change the date...

This week I ran 2.25 miles twice and 1.7 miles twice. That's not quite the 3.2 miles that I will do tomorrow, but my wife says I'm ready. As some of you know, she is a runner and can run circles around me tomorrow. Instead of leaving me in the dust, she has said that she is going to stay with me for support!

My goal is to finish under 40 minutes... we'll see how that plays out! I'll tell my mother-in-law to take some pictures.

YAY Ryan!! My husband is a runner too, but I am more of a dog-walker ... although I do run shorter distances sometimes. (We didn't know your wife is a runner too - cool! :). Last year Rick & I both did the Apple Pie 5K in Salem, which is held during the Fulton Co. Homecoming Festival. With similar efforts in my pre-race training, I finished the 5K in 36 minutes, and that course is pretty hilly, so I think your 40 minute goal should be no-sweat, even if you have to walk a good bit. Good luck & have fun! :D

P.S. Thanks for coaxing the sun back out this afternoon! ;) We were up around West Plains today and would have had lots of nice photo opportunities when the sun finally appeared, but we didn't take the good camera along.

Well, it's almost 10:15, so hopefully you've crossed the finish line by now. I'm still sending y'all good vibes just in case you're "running late".

Woot!
