Well, the city that we use to live in got slammed by a tornado in Alabama today. We have spoken with some of our friends down there and everyone seems to be ok. It's sad to see the places we use to shop at in Prattville... destroyed. To see some of the damage from Prattville, click here.This has been a very active month. I hope it is not a sign of things to come.
For all of you that read the blog from down in Alabama, we are praying for you guys. I wish I could come down there and help you cleanup. I just can't believe all of the tornado damage that has occured in the past 2 weeks. The four states that I have lived in, have been hit hard: AR, AL, KY, and TN.
According to WSFA, this is the latest information on the damage as of 11:30 PM:
Autauga County: A confirmed tornado touchdown in Prattville with major damage there. 3500 without power in Prattville. A mandatory cerfew is in effect tonight (Sunday night). If you need to pick up presecriptions from the Prattville Walmart, you may get them at the Millbrook Walmart.
Chilton County: Reports of damage, several trees down, the Durbin's sign destroyed, a Taco Bell sign along I-65 damaged. Roof damage at the Days Inn600 out of power in Clanton.
Coosa County: Numerous reports of trees down.
Covington County: Reports of damage west of Andalusia and towards Gantt. Confirmed damage on Brookland Road north of town where an 18 wheeler turned over, two homes and 3 barns destroyed. Lots of trees and powerlines down. EMA officials say you can see the path the storm took. Also trees down in Straughn and Antioch.
Dallas County: In the Summerfield/Oakmuggy area of Dallas County the storms destroyed two homes. There are at least 7 homes damaged in the area as well. Reports of a possible tornado touchdown. There are also reports of roof and tree damage in the Summerfield area in Dallas County. 750 without power in Selma.
Lowndes County: 5 homes damaged in Collieriene, 5 people taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Trees are down in numerous locations.

That was very tough to watch on radar yesterday. Hope all you guys are okay down there & we'll of course have you in our prayers.

The damage is unbelievable, and it is truly a miracle that no one was killed.
