Jacksonport Problems!

I just got off of the phone with Don Ivey from Jackson County OEM. He said the water is now coming over the levee at Jacksonport State Park!

They have 37 inmates on the levee sandbagging and they are pumping the city. Hopefully it does not get any worse. Despite the river forecast of a 32' crest, Don said it is already up to 33'!

We will have a crew there and will be live tomorrow morning on GMR8. It's too late to have them there at 10:00.

If you scroll down, you can see a picture of the levee that I took this afternoon when I was there.

Stay tuned,
Ryan

Hwy 67 from Biggers to Pocahontas is now one lane with the road department out tonight. If it comes up 1 more foot it will be shut down tomorrow. It has never been shut down. I have talked to alot of folks in there 60's and 70's, and they have never seen it this bad. Biggers has Current to the North and Black to the South. You want to see lots of water just go from Pocahontas to Biggers on 67!
