Watermelon Update

Everywhere I went today, people asked me about the 72 pound Cave City Watermelon. Well, here's the update. We did not eat it at work because we could not find a knife that was not plastic! I then decided to take it home...

Well, that's just WAY too much watermelon for the Vaughan's... so I took it to Mission Outreach. Some guys from church all got together to do some work out there today and I gave it to them. I meant to step inside and give it taste, but I ran out of time and forgot. I'm sure it was good though! I'll have to call someone and ask though...

Anywho, it looks like we may get some more rain. Click here it see the latest radar loop.

Take care,
Ryan

When I first seen that Watermelon yesterday afternoon, I told my husband that we needed to go to Jonesboro and visit KAIT8. LOL. I love Watermelon. I'm going to have to go buy me one now. LOL. I must say, that is a one huge Watermelon. I'm sure the guys at the Mission Outreach enjoyed it. I looked at the radar, and it does look like we are going to be getting some beneficial rain later tonight and tomorrow. I really have been enjoying these nice temperatures. Have a great weekend.

We went to the Cave City Kiwanis Pancake breakfast this morning. We have gone every year since we've lived in AR. (Well, one year I was out of the state visiting family so Rick picked up a hitch-hiker on the way down - seriously!) As usual, we stayed for the parade and car show, which was especially nice beacause it was not 100 degrees, as was the case last year. On the way home we got a reasonably-sized watermelon; we will spit watermelon seeds later on, in lieu of watching the Olympic Games, since we only get ABC here. This will be quite the spectacle in its own right and will perhaps even draw a crowd of amazed onlookers... or perhaps not.

Y'all need to get the StormTRACKER up here for the parade one of these years! =D
