Tonight, our news came on late because of the speech from President Bush. While waiting for the news to come on, I watched the latest stunt from David Blaine called "Dive of Death". It sounded like he was going to jump 44 feet to the ground. I'm not sure why 44 is always his magic number, but whatever... When he jumped, he had cables on him... he floated around... and then went up into the air with cables attached to him. To be honest, it was not that spectacular. It could have easily been a crane or even a helicopter. It was dark, so anything is possible.
I have not seen much criticism online about it yet, but it seems pointless. Did I miss something?
Leading up to the event, he hung upside down for 60 hours... almost. Some online reports claim he took several breaks upright.
Did anyone else see it? Disappointed? I like David Blaine and I think he does cool stuff... but this was not that great. Stick to card tricks, Blaine.
Take care,
Ryan

Yeah, I yelled at my TV, too.
Pretty lame.
Yep seen it, didn't feel it worth making the news 15 minutes late....grrrrr
We're not just talking a FEW breaks - apparently it was as much as once an hour! A few hours before the, uh, "finale," he stood upright for 20 minutes on a platform...

It would have been alot better if he just dove into 500 lbs of chicken crap !
He is one ODD bird!
I wondered about the point of it all, also. It seemed a lot of fuss about not much.
