Weather Sources

So... I'm up late tonight. I decided to read up on the Red Wolves on one of the local ASU message boards and noticed they were discussing the weather for the game. One guy posted the forecast from The Weather Channel, another from the National Weather Service, and another from KAIT.

As some of you know, I have friends at TWC and the NWS. I can guarantee you that we are more focused on the forecast for the ASU/Southern Miss game than any other weather source. I'm sure the folks at NWS and TWC would agree with me.

TWC runs a single model and bases their entire "Local" forecast on that ONE model with no human intervention. Most of the folks in Atlanta have no clue who is playing football on Saturday in Jonesboro, AR.

Here's the deal, I'm going with a 30% chance of rain at kickoff. I have looked at the other forecasts and mine has the lowest rain chances. It "could" rain at the game, but I really think it is going to hold off. We'll see... Time will tell. I may have to eat crow!

Like lawyers, weather folks always get picked on for their forecasts. Despite the jokes, our forecasts are actually quite accurate. We will always have some busted forecasts, but I'll put my forecast against The Weather Channel any day. I'll let Cantore know that too!

By the way, The Weather Channel just lowered their rain chances! lol

I was gonna come to the game, but I don't know if I can afford gas to Jonesboro. My wife just called and said it was 4.29 a gallon in Jonesboro !

Well it looks like we have a eye starting to form. The weather channel seems to think it will be a high 2 or low 3 when it hits. JMO I think it will make it to a 4. I hope not, but it is starting to really get organized.

I know this has nothing to do with this post, but is there not going to be an explanation of when Chris Castleman left and where he's going - or did I miss it?
