Paragould Weather News

Since I still need to do some more research about the first snow of the season, I will talk about the weather news coming from Paragould.

For YEARS I have wanted weather information from Paragould, but there has not been an ASOS (Automated Surface Observation System) at the airport. Well, we have partnered with Arkansas Methodist Medical Center to put weather instruments on their building AND a SkyCAM!!!!

At some point in the next few weeks, we will have a live camera with current conditions in Paragould! I have been on the roof of the hospital and the view is awesome. If you can't tell, I'm pretty excited about it. Look for more cameras to pop up across Region 8 in the future. I'm hoping some other businesses will partner with us, too.
Take care!
Ryan
PS- My father-in-law works at the hospital and has volunteered to dance for the camera during the newscasts!

Awesome news. That will be VERY useful during severe wx. I can think of several times in the past when that would have really helped to have had a sky cam up there.

Woo Hoo! That'll be great! Thanks AMMC, KAIT8, Ryan and Ryan's FIL for making this happen. Let's see will the FIL dances be Salsa? Line Dances? Hmmm... I guess we'll have to watch and see.

I live near Bono, with red tail hawks and a pair of eagles flying the area, and 4 true seasons to the trees and fields. We can see tornadoes come over the ridge and snow fly horizontally. If you want a weather cam out here also, just say the word.
