Roads Are Getting Slick

Here's a map that should refresh each time you visit this page. Hit refresh occasionally.

As you can see, there are many roads that are becoming slick across Region 8. We have crews that will be out live near the roadways to bring you the latest information on road conditions at 5:00 and 6:00.
So far, the weather is going as expected. The precipitation held off in some locations for a longer period than I expected, but pretty much everyone has dropped below freezing and the freezing rain and sleet is coming down hard in some locations.
Our See It, Snap It, Send It section of our website has had some problems today. If you want to send us some pictures, send them to stormteam@kait8.com for now. THANKS everyone!
Be safe!
Ryan

It has been sleeting here most of the day, and we just got a real heavy band that put some ice down in a hurry.

The sleet outside is making so much noise, I had to turn up the TV volume to hear your 6:00 report. Freaky.
I appreciate your reporters having the dedication to report live whatever is happening. But I really feel bad that they get sent out on what appears to be dangerous missions, such as driving all the way out to Hoxie in the ice. Really, I would have believed you if you had just reported the road conditions from a Hoxie weather watcher.

You know it's bad when The Weather Channel sends a reporter up from Memphis to report specifically about Jonesboro. Yes, we made the national news.
