A Look Behind The Scenes At Rita...

Good Wednesday morning everyone! We started using a new product on-air yesterday that you may have noticed. It's the GFDL computer model that we can now display through our weather computer. The above picture is a screenshot of our weather computer. This is the computer that displays the graphics we show each and everyday and this particular screenshot shows the new "Hurricane Tracker" data we started using yesterday. You will likely not see this data anywhere else in the area. It is going to be an amazing tool to use through the rest of the hurricane season. The hurricane season that I can't wait to END!!! I included a couple of notes on the above picture to show you what you are looking at.... click the picture to enlarge.

This storm still looks to be the Tropical Ace of Spades for Texas... more specifically the Houston / Galveston area. It's almost humorous to see the local and federal politicians and officials in the wake of Katrina. They are going above and beyond to be TOTALLY prepared for whatever happens. (or at least LOOK totally prepared!) I hope that disaster relief is handled in a much better manner than it was with Katrina. We'll see...

For the latest information on Rita checkout our Hurricane Center on our website.

Have a good day!
