During Yalanda's liveshot tonight at the scene, some "genius" decides to start honking his horn while she trying to talk. Why would someone do that? I can "kind of" understand if we were live on location for the State Fair or something, but we were live covering one of the saddest stories of the year!
I am sure he knew why we there (in case you were going to take up for him). It's not that big of a town and she was standing in front of the memorial! I just don't understand??? Can anyone explain why people think it is funny or cool to honk during liveshots? Especially serious news stories?
I will say that Yalanda handled it VERY well.
Arrrrgh!

yes, it was a very horrible thing that happened in newport last night; i am an emergency room nurse and was called in to help with this horrible incident. it still does not seem real.
as far as the "rude" person honking the horn, i am sure that it was one of newport's finest trying to impress someone.
as a member of this town, i can say that we all appreciate the concern, prayers, and help from everyone.
please continue to pray for those still in the hospital and for all of the families and friends.
thank you,
a newport resident
Unfortunately, there are a lot of rude, inconsiderate people out there.
My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.
