GROSS

I'm sick and tired of gross, nasty, dirty indoor playgrounds. We go to a local fast-food restaurant that has been getting worse and worse. It seems that every time I go in there, it is even nastier than the time before. Not only is the playground gross, but so is the floor, the trash cans, and the restrooms. I'm boycotting the place until someone says it is getting cleaner.

Where do I file my complaints? I have spoken with the manager before and nothing changes. I know who the owner is and I hope I get the chance to tell him in the future. What about the health department??? Can they do anything? ARGH!

Do you guys know a place like this? If so, feel free to post the name and location in the comments section. Maybe we can all start avoiding these places, too! (Include the city and state...we have readers from all over the place!) You can post anonymously!

The Health Department is a very good resource. You should contact them, they will do something about it.

Have you not seen the news (national) about all of these playgrounds at fast food restaurants and what is found in the bottom of those big box of balls that kids play in - they have found needles, syringes, human feces and much more. Lat year there was a kid who had to have his leg amputated because of being stuck by a needle in one of those ball lands (or whatever you call them). I have already boycotted the playgrounds!!! And many fastfood restaurants are filthy all around and it is not just Arkansas. Just got back from a trip to Oklahoma, went in a Brauma's and there wer dead flies and trash all in the place. Very appetizing and when a 6 year old makes a comment about it, it has to be bad.

You must be talking about the mickey D's on 412 and 49. That's a no brainer. We are boycotting too. BAD MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

No playground issue to speak of, BUT, for gross-factor, I give you ...

Sonic, Ash Flat, AR; 2 weeks ago... Ordered: Chicken Strip Dinner (strips, fries, Texas Toast and gravy, plus one (1) onion ring) w/ Oreo Blast.

First sign of trouble: No ketchup or napkins offered by roller-skating food-delivery agent at the time foodstuff was received. Things progressed down-hill quickly thereafter...

During pre-consumption inspection, Texas Toast was discovered to be host to a fly, which was artfuly singed into the bread, dead-center; gravy may have in actuality been souped-up drywall compound...

Next, Human hair was found relaxing among the assemblage of luke-warm french fries.

I'll now take time-out to note that the one (1) onion ring was hot, crispy and satisfying

But finally we have:
The Last Straw
Oreo Blast found to contain Butterfinger cross-contamination throughout, amounting to an icecream-treat STD, in my opinion, and is therefore inexcusable.

This description should illuminate a part of the reason as to why I patronize fast-food establishments approximately two times per year (-not counting Subway!).

I'm glad to say that the fast food places that I frequent look very clean.

By the way, could you give your email address somewhere on your weather site?

I can't use your link, apparently because I don't have MS Office on my computer.

If it's a national chain, I'd write a letter to the national headquarters. And I'd be sure to point out you're in the TV news industry.

I agree that something needs to be done about the playlands, my daughter was 5 and we were at Burger King (Paragould)when she got down the slide I asked her what was all over her she said mud. As I start to clean her up it wasn't mud it was poop. Try cleaning that up and being 8 mths pregrant. Wasn't a pretty sight. We told the manager they didn't say sorry or anything. They wanted my daughter to go through there to show where it was at. Need less to say that was 2 years ago and I haven't been back.

I agree with the previous poster that you must be taking about the Mickey D's on 412 and 49 the last time we went we had ants. We also had a birthday party there last year for 1 of our 5 children and it was awful and the service was even worse considering we were paying for someone to host our party. I spoke with management 3 times and never got anywhere then one time I called up there and the one of the co'owners wife answered the phone and she was very upset about the way we were being treated so we got a check in the mail a couple of day's later for our entire birthday party amount it is locally owned of course I also told her that with 5 kids that is alot of birthday parties each year but needless to say I have not had a party there since.

BROVO Ryan!!!
Its about time someone took these franchised establishments to task over issues the companies ignore,If we dont look out for the health and well being of our young, those under cover of identity revelation, is not going to do anything but check the numbers on their bank statements.

We've stopped going in all together. Not only the places being nasty but we got tired of people not watching their kids or just pretty much leaving them in there alone. We opt for taking it to the park or bring it home and play in the back yard. I wouldn't care paying a dollar to play in play centers if that would mean they would use the funds to keep it cleaned and under control

I feel the problem is mickey D's has a hard time getting good quality help. Of course if they would pay good help above minimum wage, they would get people who do care about the way they do their job, and more would hire in. I would think they could afford to do that!

I disagree with the lady who said higher wages warrant better cleanliness, either you have pride in yourself and the environment of which you work,or you dont!

McDonalds on 49 & 412 need to be inspected, the dinning area is a mess and the playground is much better, I won't us their bathroom.

I think you are talking aobut Burger King on Highland Drive. The Play ground stinks to high heaven. I took my daughter 1 time and could not eat my food with the smell of nasty butt lingering in the air! We ask them if they ever cleaned it with gearm killer and was told no.. it only gets clean with bleach in spots where a child has blead if it is reported.
Then one day I went through there drive through to order the #1 with a DR. Pepper. I stick my hand down in the bag to get a fry and as I pull the fry to my mouth a ROACH as long as my figer in crawling up my hand from inside my food sack!!! Now I have a very strong stomack and not much can make me sick... but that was to much!! I took the sack in to the busy Burger King through it arcoss the counter and Demanded my money back.

I have been to both Burger Kings (Paragould and Jonesboro) they both need to be inspected. I won't let my children play in any playland because they are so nasty. My 50 yr old mother went through the one at McDonalds on 49 & 412 she said that it was so dirty. Look like it had not been cleaned in months. Instead of mystery shoppers they need mystery playland people.

Ha ha- mystery players? That's a great idea. I'd love that job- as long as they provide me with a hazmat suit and a wading pool filled with purel hand sanatizer.

My frustration is with the parents letting the plastic tunnels and inflential 5 year olds baby sit thier kids while they gab about the weather (no offense Ryan) but ignore the screams and the bullying. Please, supervise your kids!!! My three year old came down the slide with a freshly drawn tattoo on his arm!

If the parents would do their jobs- BEING PARENTS- it would solve the bullying problem and (some of) the filth.
