Icy Setup Possible

Upon further review, maybe I should be a little more concerned about the wintry weather threat this week. Here's a GFS forecast sounding for Jonesboro for 3:00 AM on Tuesday morning. This is a skewT diagram and shows a profile of the temperature and dewpoint forecast for that particular time over Jonesoboro. Think of it as a slice taken from the atmosphere at that particular time-frame. The bottom is the ground, and the top is the upper-atmosphere.

The red line is the temperature and the green line is the dewpoint. Notice how both of them weave around the 0°C line to around 750mb. This is a nice little sign of a possible icy setup. One or two degrees in any direction will make or break a forecast this week. We'll keep you posted.
Right now, we may be dealing with a burst of freezing rain Tuesday morning through parts of Region 8.
