..."OK, so one winter does not a climate make. It would be premature to claim an Ice Age is looming just because we have had one of our most brutal winters in decades. But if environmentalists and environment reporters can run around shrieking about the manmade destruction of the natural order every time a robin shows up on Georgian Bay two weeks early, then it is at least fair game to use this winter's weather stories to wonder whether the alarmist are being a tad premature?

It's these kinds of "arguments" that make any intelligent debate on this subject practically impossible. It's a shame that this had to be injected into the article, because otherwise it was very informative.

The reality is that "environmentalists and environment reporters" DO "run around shrieking" before they have good science to back them up, just the same as those on "the other side" DO dismiss anything being said by those identifiable as "environmentalists" because, oftentimes, what's being said or shown might be dangerous (on a different level) for them to consider. ... It works both ways; gives me a headache.

Hey Ryan, I assume you have seen the latest model runs. Looks like they are suggesting some snow in the Mid-south sometimes around the 4th of March. It is still a good ways out though. I don't know where you all stand but here in Nashville we've got .5 inches of snow under our belt this winter. (out of about 9 inches on average)
